Denver Energy Challenge for Businesses
EnergySmart from START to SAVINGS
This program provides education, free support services, and financial assistance to small businesses and business districts in the City and County of Denver. The goal is to help businesses save money, increase energy efficiency, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Individual Business Assistance
Get STARTED A dedicated Energy Advisor will provide an initial site assessment to estimate the potential energy and cost savings for your business. If an Xcel Energy Assessment is completed during this process, an Advisor can help you understand the report and develop a plan of action to implement recommendations.
Get SUPPORT Energy Advisors provide start-to-finish project assistance and can also help your business in obtaining bids for potential work, and identifying other applicable rebates or incentives.
Get SAVINGS The program provides rebates for energy efficiency improvements once projects are completed and helps save you time and money by providing assistance with the rebate application process and collecting data to measure your actual energy savings.
Visit the Denver Energy Challenge website for details and to sign up.
Denver Energy Challenge is funded by the Department of Energy’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Better Buildings Program and is administered by the Department of Environmental Health.
Denver Pollution Prevention Partners
“Pollution is simply waste: wasted resources, wasted energy, wasted materials. Companies that eliminate such waste will be using their capital, technologies, and raw materials more productively to generate maximum value and, therefore, will become more competitive and improve the environment.” – Michael Porter, Harvard Business School.
DenverP2Partners is an Environmental Business Assistance Program designed to help your business with environmental permitting and compliance, identify opportunities for waste reduction through audits and consultation, implement improved management practices to reduce air pollution emissions and discharges that impact water quality and to conserve water and energy.
This free, non-regulatory, confidential assistance is available to any business in the City and County of Denver.

How it works
Participating buildings will use the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager tool to share energy and water use with the Watts To Water program. ENERGY STAR experts will be available to help any participant with this process.
A benchmark year is set and a subsequent year’s data is compared against the benchmark year to determine which properties will be awarded recognition in three different categories.
