Constructed between 1894 and 1914, Denver Union Station operated 80 trains a day in the 1920s and 1930s and, until 1958, processed more travelers than Stapleton Airport.

Denver Union Station's neon slogan, "Travel by Train," will once again ring true when the metro area's FasTracks plan is completed.
A cornerstone of the plan, Denver Union Station will become the region's connecting point as a 24-hour, multi-modal transportation hub.
The revitalized facility and 19.85 acres of surrounding land will accommodate many categories of transportation, including light rail, commuter rail, regional and intercity bus, taxis, shuttles, vans, limousines and bicycles.
It will also serve as a destination for pedestrians and feature more than 1 million square feet of new offices, residences and shops.
The Denver Union Station site will provide convenient and safe access to and efficient connections between each transportation mode, helping improve access to jobs, housing, and activity centers throughout the region.
