Fresh from her fight with Karl Rove at Saturday night's White House Correspondents' Association dinner, eco warrior Laurie David is headed to Denver May 3 to mix it up.
The City of Denver, Greenprint Denver and Fulcrum Publishing are bringing in the global warming activist, who produced the Oscar-winning "An Inconvenient Truth" and is married to grumpy "Seinfeld" creator Larry David.
Laurie David and singer Sheryl Crow have been touring college campuses in a biodiesel bus (wonder if she missed her customary chartered Gulfstream jet) - trying to raise awareness of global warming with students.
David wrote the book "Stop Global Warming" for Denver-based Fulcrum Publishing, where it enjoyed great success.
Sheryl and Laurie's dinner appearance was called by The National Ledger a "global warming bimbo eruption...sporting lots of jewelry and plenty of cleavage." Laurie's confrontation with Rove was well reported Monday. David on Rove: "I've never had anyone be so rude."
The women earlier fought it out with CNBC's Joe Kernen when he asked David about the BBC doc "The Great Global Warming Swindle." Her answer: "Well, I haven't seen it, but I do believe in fact and science."
Mayor John Hickenlooper will emcee David's Denver appearance at 7 p.m. May 3 at the Korbel Ballroom at the Colorado Convention Center. It's free - go over to greenprintdenver.org and hit the link for news & events.
Yoko
Yoko Ono was spotted out for dinner Sunday night at Rioja with her daughter Kyoko Cox. Seems Ono was alienated from the kid since she married the late John Lennon - but was reunited with her in 2001. Kyoko is the daughter of Ono and filmmaker Tony Cox, Ono's second husband.
A few years ago, The London Times wrote that Kyoko "lives in Denver and is married to a devout Christian." Ono was seen Monday having lunch at Mad Greens, across from the Denver Art Museum.
