Bike Share
On Earth Day, 2010, Denver became one of the first U.S. cities to implement a full-scale comprehensive public bicycle sharing system with the launch of the Devner B-Cycle program.
Denver’s has over 358 miles of bike routes/trails and 300 days of sunshine which makes it the perfect city to launch a bike sharing system. The Denver B-Cycle program consists of 600 bikes and 40-50 B-stations focusing primarily on the core downtown business district, Cherry Creek and University of Denver.
The City has made and continues to make great strides to improve infrastructure for safe cycling. Bike sharing will support the City’s Strategic Transportation Plan and Climate Action Plan and be integrated into the larger multi-modal transportation system, including buses and lightrail. Denver will be one of the most accessible downtown areas of any city in the U.S.
Denver Bike Sharing, a non-profit charitable corporation, has been established to operate Denver B-cycle.
